Lis and Mylittlebus

The First Part of the
Northern Territory
Not a lot happens for a while but when we got to Avon Downs rest area,
we got a glimpse of how many travellers were on the road.
We had been travelling on our own since Barcaldine but would meet up with Dawn at Three Ways.
On my previous visit  here, at the Barkly Homestead, I was with Lindy and it was the middle of an
out of season heat wave.  This time we had the unusual occurrence of rain.
And here is Dawn!
This pub is decorated with just about people
from all over Australia and all over the world.
It is famous for its decor.  Personally, I think it
It is famous for its decor.  Personally, I think it
decorated with just about decorating.  Let
some-one else do it.  No anything and
everything - all donated by doubt there is
minimum maintenance as things are added
and/ or replaced - all by other people.
Clever!!!
Larrimah - rich in WWII history.  This was where the Japanese
planes could not reach.
See if you can find the man who became Prime Minister.
Our introduction to billabongs.
The photo below, has quite a story.  Dawn snapped this shot and if you have a good
look at Angus' face, you can see that he has surely been up to something.  It was a
morning at a rest area.  I had made a bacon and egg toasted sandwich for breakfast.
like 'is there any more of that?'  When I turned back to my breakfast, it was gone and
the crumbs had been cleaned up as well.
But first, a walk along the Roper River.
Our first Crocodile sighting in NT.
Yes - the same river - no I am not skinny dipping.
Angus meets pig.  Yes a pig.  Ami came tearing out of the bus and chased him away.
Last camp before Kakadu.
the Harriet Creek
camping area, we
pack our rigs and, in
the morning, we head
for Kakadu National
Park.

Four of us left together
but one is soon put off
by the dirt roads so it
became Dawn, Jen
and I.
